David is a national board-certified practitioner of acupuncture and herbal medicine (NCCAOM) and is licensed by the Maryland Board of Acupuncture.

David graduated from Dragon Rises College with a Bachelor's in Health Sciences and a Masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Contemporary East Asian Medicine. He holds undergraduate degrees in Journalism and Music Performance from the University of Florida.

David is motivated by personal experience and a belief that the body has an innate ability to heal itself. “Most patients are ready to focus on healing but just need encouragement. “East Asian medicine can be the gentle push that lets them know they can.” From an authentic and unique perspective, David believes all patients can take control of their health through healthy lifestyle changes.

In 2002, David began a journey that would transition him to a career in healthcare. David was diagnosed with cancer, and acupuncture became an integral part of his healing process. Its effect on his vitality and resilience was palpable. Acupuncture gave him the energy to spend time with his family and provided a healthy recovery.

David has a passion for teaching and enjoyed his role as a clinic supervisor at Dragon Rises College. David guided student interns to discover East Asian Medicine’s sophistication, elegance, and effectiveness.

As an advocate of integrative medicine, David has given presentations on the benefits of acupuncture in cancer care.

Overall, David believes that combining modern biomedicine, Chinese medicine, proper nutrition, massage, and mind-body practices provides the best outcome for acute and chronic diseases.
